What the site is

RandomSeat is a free, browser-based tool for drawing classroom layouts, importing a student roster, and generating randomized seating charts. It runs entirely in your browser; there is no account creation required for basic use.

Use of the service

• The tool is provided free of charge, for personal and classroom use.
• You are responsible for how you use any student information you enter or import, including compliance with your school's policies and applicable laws (such as FERPA in the United States).
• You agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service.

Google Classroom integration

If you use "Import from Google Classroom," you are also subject to Google's own Terms of Service and API usage policies for the data accessed through that connection. RandomSeat only requests read-only access to your course list and roster to populate your seating chart, as described in our Privacy Policy.

No warranty

RandomSeat is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of any seating chart you want to preserve (via "Export Classroom").

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RandomSeat and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue the site or these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
